Real Salt Lake defender picks SMU

Jonathan Zabasajja, a Class of 2013 defender prospect from Ahwatukee, Ariz., confirmed Tuesday that he has committed to Southern Methodist University.

Zabasajja plays club soccer for Real Salt Lake-AZ. He has not appeared in any matches this season for RSL-AZ’s Under-17/18 team. Last year, he started 17 of his 18 appearances for the program’s Under-15/16 squad.

He attends Desert Vista (Phoenix, Ariz.).

Zabasajja joins a SMU Class of 2013 recruiting group that includes Marco Carrizales, Brody Hickey, Ben Joseph and Abdul Yassine of Texas and Eric Klenofsky of New Jersey.
