Greg Boehme, a Class of 2013 midfielder prospect from Montclair, Va., has verbally committed to Virginia Commonwealth, his family confirmed Saturday.
Boehme is a team captain for McLean Youth Soccer’s Under-17/18 team in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. He has started five of his six appearances this season and has scored one goal. The team currently is in a second-place tie in the Atlantic Division.
He played high school soccer at Forest Park (Woodbridge, Va.) last school year and was named to the InsideNoVa all-area team following a three-goal, eight-assist performance. He also earned all-district first-team and all-region second-team honors.
He is the second confirmed commitment in VCU’s 2013 recruiting class, joining Michael Gaffary from New York.
