Thunder Academy keeper picks UW-Green Bay

Sam Ruelas, a Class of 2013 goalkeeper prospect from Eagan, Minn., has verbally committed to Wisconsin-Green Bay, ESR learned Monday.

Ruelas has started nine matches for the Minnesota Thunder under-17/18 Academy team this season.

He played three years of high school soccer, helping Eastview (Apple Valley, Minn.) to a 20-1-1 showing in 2011 and a state runner-up finish.

Ruelas was a US Youth Soccer ODP player for three years prior to joining the Academy team.

He joins a large UW-Green Bay recruiting class that includes Brandon Hall and Tyler Swanner of Illinois, Kyle Ihn, Austin Jepson, Adam Nelson, Jeremy Nji and Kevin Winter of Wisconsin, Brendan Kissel and Conner Sendobry of Missouri, Eddosa Muhammed of Minnesota, Jean Carlo Perez of New York and Taurean Greenridge of Barbados.
