Academy U18 Top 10: Jan. 17

The undefeated New York Red Bulls top the first ESR Development Academy Under-17/18 rankings for the 2012-13 season.

ESR will update the Development Academy every other week through the rest of the Academy season.

NOTES: As the lone remaining undefeated Development Academy Under-17/18 team, the Red Bulls have certainly earned the top ranking on the field. The team pinned the only loss on No. 2 LA Galaxy as Alex Muyl scored both goals in a 2-1 win. Top Scorers: Alex Muyl 10 goals, Ismar Tandir 8 goals. Next: March 2 at South Central Premier.
2 LA Galaxy 8-1-1 NR
NOTES: Galaxy’s 2-1 setback to top-ranked New York Red Bulls is the lone loss for this perennial power. A 3-2 win over Real Salt Lake-AZ kept the Galaxy atop the division standings. Top Scorers: Justin Dhillon 5 goals, Jack McBean 5 goals. Next: Jan. 27 vs. Pateadores.
3 PDA 8-1-1 NR
NOTES: PDA has three shutouts in its last five matches with keepers Eric Gutierrez and Michael Renna each part of two. Top Scorers: Max Kroschwitz 7 goals, Alec Neumann 6 goals. Next: March 2 at Virginia Rush.
4 Albertson SC 9-1-3 NR
NOTES: Albertson, whose only loss is to the Red Bulls, has six shutouts this season and has surrendered only eight goals in 13 matches. Top Scorers: Santiago Moore 5 goals. Next: March 9 vs. Red Bulls.
5 Real Salt Lake-AZ 9-2-3 NR
NOTES: Real Salt Lake-AZ had a chance to climb to the top of the division standings, but fell to rival LA Galaxy. Top Scorers: Benjamin Lopez 10 goals, Jose Navarro 10 goals. Next: Jan. 27 vs. Nomads.
6 Indiana United 9-1-4 NR
NOTES: Indiana United is riding a 12-match undefeated streak. Top Scorers: Joey Bastian 14 goals. Next: March 2 vs. Internationals.
7 Dallas Texans 7-2-3 NR
NOTES: The Texans are 7-0-2 in their last nine matches, which has allowed the team to surge to first in the division. Top Scorers: Alec Petit 4 goals, Christian Soldat 4 goals. Next: Jan. 19 vs. Houston Dynamo.
8 Baltimore Bays Chelsea 9-2-1 NR
NOTES: The Bays are one of the hottest teams in the Academy, going 6-0-1 in their last seven matches. Top Scorers: Yaw Amankwa 12 goals, Moja Hale 5 goals. Next: March 2 vs. D.C. United.
9 Houston Dynamo 6-2-3 NR
