Surf midfielder heads East to George Washington

Garrett Heine, a Class of 2013 midfielder/forward prospect, confirmed to ESR on Monday that he has verbally committed to George Washington University.

Heine has started eight of his 12 appearances with the San Diego Surf Under-17/18 Development Academy club this season.

He attends Torrey Pines (San Diego, Calif.), where he was named MVP and helped the squad to the San Diego Division I Section title in 2012. He earned all-league and all-CIF San Diego Section honors as a junior.

Heine joins a GW recruiting class that includes Niles Ewing of England, Miles McClearn of New Jersey and Samson Summerlin of Maryland.
