McLean Academy midfielder picks VCU

Cody Sweatte, a Class of 2014 attacking midfield prospect from Bluemont, Va., confirmed to ESR that he has verbally committed to Virginia Commonwealth.

Sweatte plays club soccer for McLean Youth Soccer in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. Sweatte has started in 18 of his 23 appearances for McLean’s Under-15/16 squad and has scored three goals.

He helped Virginia reach the 2012 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program National Championships and was a former member of the ODP Region I player pool.

He attends Loudoun Valley (Purcellville, Va.) and is the second commit in VCU’s class of 2014, joining Curtis Kirby.
