Former Minn. prep standout transfers to Oakland

Gerald Ben, a 6-foot-3 forward from Brooklyn Park, Minn., confirmed to ESR that he is transferring to Oakland University.

It will be his third college.

Ben guided Prairie Seeds Academy (Brooklyn Park, Min.) to a high school state title in 2010, scoring 37 goals and adding 15 assists. He also scored 13 goals for Minnesota Thunder Academy in the Development Academy.

He spent the 2011 season at North Iowa Area Community College, scoring 14 goals with seven assists. This past fall, he played for Westmont College, scoring 13 goals with two assists in 15 matches.

Ben will report to Oakland University in January of 2014.
